Programmable

This model can be used in the MANUAL mode like the Toolmaker. In addition, it can store up to five spindle speeds with their surface foot ratings and will instantly recall these presets This model has an additional feature which allows the operator to override programmed RPM for fine tuning without changing the programmed cutting tool diameters. In the AUTOMATIC mode, the controller displays spindle RPM and tool diameter as it is recalled. This enables the operator to associate recommended RPM versus tool diameter for material being machined.

Z Axis Option

The Z-Axis model contains all of the above features plus the addition of a
linear glass scale. The Z-Axis model is turned on and off by depressing the spindle
speed control knob. This switches the tool diameter display into the digital read out
mode. It allows the operator to use the controller just like a digital read out when
zeroing out and measuring depth.

By turning on the TAP MODE the Z-Axis model can be programmed to
reverse the spindle at a specific depth for tapping. Programming is accomplished
by rotating the spindle speed control knob to the desired depth. By holding in the control
knob momentariy, the tapping depth is stored into memory. The operator now only
needs to turn on the spindle and start tapping.

When the tap reaches the programmed depth the spindle will automatically reverse,
allowing the tap to exit the part. At .100 above the part, the spindle will automatically
reverse back to the original direction. This allows multiple tapping without the
operator having to manually reverse the spindle.
